Our law firm was founded in 1980. Co-founder Dr. Harald Schotenroehr was joined by Mr. Ernst Günter Hansen in 1993 and Ms. Cäcilia Voets in 1994.

In 2002, the law firm HSMV - Hansen Schotenroehr Müller Voets was formed when Thomas Ernst Müller joined the firm.

At the end of July 2011, the firm was converted into the legal form of a partnership company, in which almost 80 people people are currently working as auditors, tax advisors and business consultants.

In August 2011, Mr Martin Rohkämper and in November 2011 Mr Ralf Corterier joined the partnership. At the beginning of 2014, Mr Christoph Bergedick and Mr Christian Vonderreck joined the partnership. At the beginning of 2021 Mr Dennis Bohusch joined the partnership and in June 2021 Mr Gerd Scholten joined the partnership. In July 2022, Mr. Stefan Niemann was appointed Salary Partner.
